TRANSPARENCY AND ARBITRATION CENTERS
The Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), led the discussion table “THE ROLE OF ARBITRATION CENTERS IN THE FIGHT FOR TRANSPARENCY”, with the purpose of analyzing the main transparency problems faced by arbitration, in order to propose specific solutions such as Arbitrator Intelligence.
The event was attended by Carlos Forbes (Associate of Mundie Advogados and Chairperson of the CAM-CCBC) who analyzed the challenges faced by arbitration centers in their fight for transparency; and Macarena Letelier (CEO and Secretary General of the CAM Santiago), who explained the measures taken by arbitration centers in Latin America in favor of transparency, presenting the case of the publication of arbitral awards issued by CAM Santiago.
Rosa Bueno (Chairperson of the Superior Council of the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce) explained the measures taken by the Arbitration Center, which will soon commemorate its 25th anniversary. On the other hand, Gary Born (Associate of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr) presented a series of proposals for arbitration centers to balance the confidential nature of arbitration and the search for more transparency.
Finally, Catherine Rogers (Director of Arbitrator Intelligence) talked about the benefits of Arbitrator Intelligence in providing more transparency in the Peruvian arbitration market.
